Quick, quick update!
SO, I've fallen off the fit and healthy train that I've been slowly riding the past few months.
It started after vacation.
It really has been SO hard getting back on.
However, TODAY I decided I'm going to get back into gear.
Fall is coming (the season, not the actual weather for us in Austin)
and I want to be wearing my nice, SMALLER sized jeans!
Not, the loose, LARGE Mom jeans that I have tucked away under the bed for emergencies, post-baby bodies or for when I decided to be a gluttonous gal and eat my weight in whatever carb that I can put my hands on.
ANYWHOOOOOOOO,
I'm seriously debating doing the CG Nutrition Challenge.
They take your body stats and find out how much is FAT, if there is any lean body mass and so on.
You also are in a competition and could potentially win money!
It does cost to do it--
but maybe I need the competition edge to get me back into my boot camp workouts and Paleo-whole food eating again?
I'm going to make my decision--and :::GASP!:: if I do go through with it--I may just share my BEFORE stats!
Which would mean you'd know my weight!
And how much of me is full on-FAT girl FAT! AHHHHH
Lovely.
Alright,
I think I'm going to do it!
I like the challenge part.
I also need some incentive...
and I'm tired of being sluggish and ready to fuel my body properly again
AND to be feeling toned.
UNTIL next time,
HK

Hot Mom Post and more!
Hey readers, happy Monday!
Here's a quick update/recap on life as of late. *It's a hodge/podge of things*
I know I do a lot of bullet points these days--but with limited time to sit down and write (unless I truly go to bed at 2am) then this will have to do.
Plus, I do want to remember everything--and if I wait until I have time to write out a lengthy blog it may be awhile. AND-the way my brain goes, I won't be able to remember!
So here's a few things I'm loving this past week:
Kie still is really great with Kix. I've yet to have a jealous issue with them and sometimes it baffles me. I think Kie gets this from his dad because Justin does not have one iota of jealousy in is his body. (I remember hating this when we dated, because I took it as a sign that he wasn't that interested). HOWEVER, I realize now it's because he is confident and self-assured. I think Kie is a lot like that. Plus, he does get a lot of one -on-one attention. I'm sure it may change one day when Kix is grabbing his toys. Haha!

So here's a few things I'm loving this past week:

| baby wearing and pushing |
- One day last week while in the car, Kix sneezed and Kie said, "God Bless you baby brudda." ::My heart melted in a puddle::
- Every time Kix lets out a little toot, which is often when you're this size...Kie tells me to "change baby brother now!" Haha
- As for Kie, we're back to wearing our underwear all day. We have yet to have an accident. However, I do still put on his diaper during his nap time and during the night. I am too lazy of a parent to want to clean up all the sheets. But, I made a promise that after we use up the diapers we have now---we are done with diapers! (I did get them at Costco, and since we wear only one diaper a day--this may be awhile!)
- I admit, I'm worried about going on long day excursions with a toddler whose only successfully used his own potty at home (and in the yard.) I don't do public toilets myself. What am I going to do with a toddler that needs to potty? Take him in a germ filled restroom?
- I truly am a germ-phobic. I am almost like Howie Mandel. I do shake hands at church, but I cringe and hate it. I use anti-bacterial right afterwards.
- Kie calls himself "Kie Cuuuuute" --Knuth (Ka-newt) does sorta sound like cute. It's pretty precious because I'm like "Kie, what's your name?" "Kie Cuuuute."
New Years Eve: 2013
- Justin and I got to go on our first date since May (our anniversary) on NYE.
- My parents were in town due to the Longhorn bowl game in San Antonio, so they let us have a night out.
- We ate at parkside on 6th Street...if you're ever in town, I highly recommend it! The food and atmoshphere was perfect!
- I ordered a drink simply because the name...Strawberry Sunrise. It was a delicious martini and I felt like an adult for the first time in awhile. And it was like a dessert!
- It was so nice to go out with my husband and forget everything for a bit. And just be us.
- It was also nice to go out and flirt with him. Yes, there is flirting at home. But, it is a whole different ball game when you have candle light, romantic dinner and no kids around. Plus, I wasn't wearing yoga pants or sweats. I seriously still look at him like I did when we dated. He still makes my heart swoon :)
- From parkside we went to our use-to-be hangout (before babies) for a cider. We sat on the patio under the heaters and enjoyed one another's company. Then we headed to CB to meet with friends where we watched some football, fireworks and had a chill night.
- I made sure we were home at midnight to ring in the New Year with my parents and my wide-awake baby, Kix.
- It was a great New Year's Eve! Seriously, the date was way over-due. I'm so grateful to my parents that they let us go out!
Hot Mom Stats:

| Strawberry Sunrise--husband on his phone coordinating w/friends |
- Last week I -worked out- nearly everyday. I say that loosely. My workouts included some walks around the neighborhood, a few hikes--my dancing and random lunges/weight lifting/planks and attempting the Shred. Oh and some deep cleaning of the house.
- The Shred (like my lunges) kills my knee.
- Every time I attempt a push up--Kie crawls under me and calls me "a tunnel" and he stays there. I gotta find time earlier or later to do the Shred.
- My non-existent abs hurt from something I did this week.
- I love baby wearing while walking--but every time I finish our hike or walk--I'm drenched. I don't know if it's breast milk because Kix is on my chest/stomach--or if it's sweat. Regardless, it's gross. Haha!
- I also logged in *nearly* every meal on Myfitnesspal (fitmomma918--come join!) It really helps me see how bad I do!
- I've lost 3lbs of the 4lbs I gained during Christmas. I'm guessing some of it was water retention.
- This week I vow to do better on my eating (I was never under my calories, so that's my goal)
- I also hit my Nike Fuel points twice last week. I hope to do it at least 3-4 times, this go around.
- Justin bought me a new fancy scale. He *SAID* it's because my other scale was pretty ugly looking. It was. But, maybe I should take that as a sign? I also weighed myself in front of him. I think he was surprised with my weight. Then again, I'm assuming. But, I'll bear the ugly truth....I'm only 30lbs LIGHTER than Justin. (He also weighed himself with his shoes and jeans on--and he's always heaviest during the winter.) Did I mention he is 6 foot tall nd I'm 5'3"?
YEP! SAD!
Alright, that's about all!
I have a lot more pictures and posts on life in general.
We got some projects coming up--and our goals for this year.
Yes, I'm ALWAYS late on blog posts!
Boo.
Haha!
Until next time,
hk

Hot Mom-post baby body
Hey readers, hope everyone had a blessed and wonderful Christmas!
I did, but I gotta admit--this year was INSANE and crazy. More on that later,
for now I'm feeling inspired and thought I'd officially start my postings on my POST-baby body quest.
Some people may criticize that I'm trying to lose weight and get back in shape and that I need to use my time to be with my children. I do agree, but also I want to be a good mom.
Being a good mom entails me having energy for two boys.
I also have a husband who DOES love me regardless how much weight I have on my frame or doesn't care my butt is 5 inches wider than it use to be (seriously, it is nearly 5 inches wider) but I want to feel and look good for him. And when I feel good, well...the whole family does better!
And most importantly, I want to set a healthy example--and I love being outside and running around--and I want my boys to be outside running too! I want them to use their bodies in sports, for fun, for play and to ultimately be used by God. And I definitely believe our bodies are temples, and I need to set a good example to my family that I think my body is a temple.
Alas, I don't have hours at a time to devote to exercising like I've done before (seriously, I had no excuse before kids to have fat on my body!) so it will take time to lose the weight.
I'm already a bit upset because I'm actually up FOUR POUNDS from Christmas!
I hope a lot of it is water retention but I doubt that.
So now that I'm officially announcing my healthier lifestyle--and exercise plan--I have no reason and no excuse to keep me at this same state!
Though, I will admit--I am going out on a date with Justin on New Year's Eve (our first date since September) so I will be indulging and having a glass or two of wine--
I believe in living life--and I won't be the kind of gal that can totally cut out everything bad. Not now at least.
I gotta ease myself in.
Besides, I tried to do some serious 'detoxing' last year and wowza, my body revolted (if you have been reading my blog awhile) then you may recall my juicing I've done.
So yes, I'll be doing weekly, maybe daily posts on my journey.
I already weighed myself.
And though I don't want to put the number up yet---I do want to say I put on 46lbs while pregnant.
Initially I lost 26--now I've gained 4 back--so I've got to lose 24 to get to pre-pregnancy state.
From there, I'll re-evaluate--and try to lose an additional 15lbs.
If you do the math thats nearly 40lbs to lose!
Here's my plan of action:
Track everything I eat through Myfitnesspal (I've been doing this with a few friends--also, if you're interested in being my friend on Myfitnesspal we can check in on one another and check out our diets!) It can be embarrassing but it keeps you accountable! If you want to know my user name to find me: it's fitmomma918
I will track those days--but I won't be killing myself if I have one too many pieces of cheese, Dove chocolates, or what have you.
I also have a Nike Fuel Band I got during Christmas.
Justin surprised me with it!
My brother has one and so does my Sister-in-law.
Another great device to use as accountability and to get you moving more.
It tracks running, jogs, walks...calories spent, steps taken and of course your Fuel points.
It tracks everything on the computer and graphs it for you. It's pretty inspiring and eye opening!
I am striving to get 3500 fuel points a day! Which has YET to happen. However, I have been pretty lazy since Christmas.
I also plan on having at least 20-30 minutes of cardio a day.
This doesn't sound like a lot, but between a 8 week old and a 2 year old--a husband, a house and a job--it's all the time I can allot for now.
Maybe when Kix is more on a schedule I can find more time in the mornings or during their naps.
My cardio will include either Zumba, my dance class, doing the Shred or walking/jogging.
I also plan on doing strength training with some weights. Not much weights because I will be using what I have here.
I do have a gym membership but I wont be going to the gym until Kix is old enough to go.
Or, when Justin is home to watch the kids.
My walks will happen with a stroller (pushing Kie) and wearing Kix (in the Ergo).
I don't really plan on running until I drop some weight.
I have a bad knee from a ski accident two years ago and extra weight on my joints cause it to hurt more.
I also am exclusively breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding doesn't seem to help me much because I'm always more hungry when bfeeding but I don't do it to lose weight.
I do it because it ultimately is the best for my baby.
However, it does help burn anywhere from 300-500 calories!
So if my eating is on track, then breastfeeding will help me burn more to lose more.
I plan on eating around 1600-1700 calories a day. (I do need more to breastfeed so that's why the number is a bit higher)
I know this is realistic.
I just doubt I'll be able to do it most days--until I retrain my eating habits.
I do plan on having one day a week to 'cheat'...
I will track those days--but I won't be killing myself if I have one too many pieces of cheese, Dove chocolates, or what have you.
So there ya have it folks.
My plan, at hand!
I start today!
I did my measurements (waist, stomach, thighs, arms etc.)
and I will check them every 30 days.
I will weigh every other day (I have to for my own sanity) and report a weekly change.
Alright, that's enough rambling!
Stay tuned for a Christmas post and pictures to come!
